Letting Things Go

For reasons I often try to explore and examine, I find myself surrounded by STUFF!  Have you ever  been there?  I am in the process of doing major downsizing.  I moved from a two bedroom with a large studio home that sat on an acre of land.  It was beautiful but not practical for the long term.  I am now in a one bedroom apartment.

Before the move, I gave away at least 2  truckloads of stuff.  What kind of stuff?  Oh, fabric and more fabric.  Beautiful things I had found through the years at junk shops, consignment stores, and estate sales.  Things I felt I just had to have.  Turns out, I don't!  I do not need 99.9% of what I had.

I watch the tv show, "Hoarders" when I need to get motivated.  I need to watch it again to get through the final process of de-stuffing my surroundings.

I've sold vintage clothing on ebay under the id vintageportal.  In fact, if you are looking for an antique french sofa, below is the link to one I'm trying to sell.

I started off selling vintage clothing on ebay. Everything I sold turned into money when ebay first started!  It was SO much fun, but now,  it is work.  Competitors are fierce and are often large companies.  The Barefoot Hoarder has had to back away big time and start selling things in groups.  I have a group of vintage dolls with their vintage clothing that should be online in the next few days.

If you find yourself like me with much more than you could EVER use during your lifetime, repeat after me, "get rid of it!"  It's not worth it.  We are sacrificing our time and money for things when there are plenty of places to volunteer and help people.  We can do this!
